Tim did three separate performances that were all focused around social-emotional learning, bullying prevention, building positive relationships, cyber-bullying and more.

Collins has performed for more than a half a million students and educators around the country. The two-time winner in the NYC United Solo Theater Festival is a published playwright and has appeared on YNN News and NPR.

The performance is designed especially for students in grades 3 through 12. In it, Collins portrays all the characters, bullied and bullies alike, and includes a clever turn on cyberbullying.
“This interactive play features compelling characters and passes along an important message in an entertaining and engaging way,” said Meagan Gillander, the OPL’s Youth Services Coordinator.
“Tim is a master at taking on different personas… he does a lot to promote healthy masculinity and helps people help friends who might be in difficult situations in relationships.”

Within “THE SCRIPT” Collins managed to seamlessly weave in not only lessons on how to handle comforting someone who has experienced rape or sexual assault but also statistics on the topic.
“In ‘STANDING BY, STANDING UP’ I portray five characters: four students and one teacher. The kids are the bullied and the ‘henchmen,’ and they reveal their stories on how bullying affects them.”

“I thought the play was done very well, I’ve never seen a one-man show before, but he gave us a bunch of characters that can relate to everyone in the audience,” senior Will Martin said. “I thought the ways he showed how we can prevent sexual assault and not be a bystander were helpful. He really gave us insight on that.”

Collins incorporated audience members to demonstrate different ways students might prevent or stop bullying situations constructively, such as changing the topic of conversation, standing up for their fellow students or bringing issues to teachers and school administrators.
